I dont know how to start the story, and how to accurately follow the details for it was to superb a journey, so full and complete with experiences of a true bike trip, with both the thrill, excitement, and of course the "problems" which alone made the trip a more enjoyable.
The most exciting part of the trip is the accident at Krishnagiri on the first day itself. Appu and Tinku fell 20 kms off krishnagiri after knocking a cyclist. Initially as expected the group moved haphazardly but then after the accident everybody seemed to realize the joy of moving together and so the ghats rocked with sandy's RX roaring all the way.
Lets start from Friday Night. Tried to sleep at 10pm but cud not till 2am !!! The excitement was killing !!!
Saturday
Got up at 5:00am and hastily got ready. Tinku came home and picked me up. others met near the shop behind tinku's place.
We had a fag and tea and then we zoomed off like a dream along the Hosur road. The wind was cool the weather was perfect. Suddenly... the accident. we guys(me,sunny and sandy) had no idea about it. we waited for the appu and tinku for almost an hour before deciding to turn back and search for them. we had already gone around 30 kms ahead of them. but managed to locate them in front of the mechanic shop on the highway.
there was a hussle that we will cancel kodai and go to yercaud but that dint deter our challange to go to kodai. so we left there around 11.45 and started off towards Dharampuri. we asked the locals for a short cut to salem and they guided us towards some place maybe sankari the road was horrible and i was riding sandy's RX. we reached palani around 6.30 in the evening. Got the bikes refilled and started off towards kodai. It is a 70 km ghat from palani to kodai and it was dark by then. it was real fun riding in the dark. sandy's bike dint have the headlight and i had to manage with the parking light. finally we reahed kodai around 9.45 and got ourselves a room for 900 bucks for 3 nights. tinku had a fight with the hotel guy for arguing in hindi for the room rent.
We decided to have some beer that night but it was wasted as we were tired and just went to bed.
Sunday
Got up around 8 am so we missed the sunrise. then we decided to go to Silent valley but the guards there said that only 10 vehicles are allowed in a day and so we caught a private bus and paid him 750 bucks. he took us to berium lake. and that is a beautiful place i swear.
We came back around 3 pm and then left for lunch. after lunch we went to the lake and and came back frm there around 6. then we went shopping. and sat for the patry. we came out of the hotel around 12 midnight and thank god sunny remembered the route back to the room. all 5 were totally boozed out with no control.
then went asleep as we had to go sightseeing next day.
Monday
Same as yesterday, we missed out the sunrise.....
Went for Breakfast and had 2-3 dosas each and left or the church came back around 9 and decided to go to Madurai. Madurai is 120 km from kodai. Reached madurai around 11.45 and went to the temple and then had lunch around 3. Left Madurai around 5 and reached kodai around 8.15.
went to bed and knowing that we had to leave for bangalore next morning.
Tuesday
Left Kodai around 6 in the morning and it was real COLD. Reached Palani around 8 and went straight to the temple and then had breakfast in Palani.
Left Palani around 9.15 and the real fun of ripping the bike was now. Palani to Dharapuram is a straight stretch of 30 km wherein the traffic is nill and so got a chance to catch up with a speed of 90-100 kmph. Finally sandy took some other route near Dharampuri and lost our way. We caught up with him in Hosur. Then we reached Bangalore around 4.50 in the evening.
Imagine a 460 km ride in less than 8hrs. IT WAS REAL FUN
The best part of the trip was that none of our parents knew we were going in Bikes.
But after returning. Tinku got caught by his dad as he had got hurt in the accident.
Excuse me for the typos......
